Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Department: Information Technology
Reports to: IT Manager
Status: Year-Round, Exempt, Benefitted
Summary
Primarily responsible for servers, storage devices, network, databases, and point of sale operation and support. Resolves point of sale and product development related technical problems. Schedule will be 5-Days/Week, Weekends, On-Call. This position requires a satisfactory background screening. Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business.
Required qualifications
A bachelor degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Experience managing a Windows Server domain environment including, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Exchange, and Group Policy.
Experience in network management, routing, and switching equipment configuration.
Knowledge of data networking concepts and protocols including Ethernet, TCP/IP, routing, switching, DHCP, and DNS.
Knowledge of relational database systems, Microsoft SQL Server, and SQL scripting experience.
Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills with strict attention to detail, standards, and procedures.
Self-motivated and ability to work independently and prioritize tasks while contributing in a team environment.
Intermediate skiing or snowboard ability.
Able to be insured to drive company vehicles.
Desired qualifications
Scripting experience (PowerShell, SQL, Bash).
Experience with virtualization (XenServer Enterprise) preferred.
Proficient with network management, routing, and switching equipment configuration (Brocade, Fortinet, Cisco) preferred.
Experience with VoIP systems (ShoreTel) preferred.
Experience with enterprise WLAN (Aruba) preferred.
Experience and working knowledge of enterprise storage devices (NetApp) preferred.
Experience with Point of Sale systems (Active Network RTP|One and/or Micros) preferred.
Experience with Linux, Debian or Ubuntu preferred.
Experience with web development (IIS) preferred.
Responsibilities:
Installation, configuration, maintenance, and provisioning of servers, databases, and network infrastructure.
Perform maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshoot performance issues on point of sale systems, reporting services, ecommerce solutions, and databases.
Perform backups, reporting, and regular security monitoring to ensure system integrity and availability.
Provide technical support for point of sale systems and product development for department managers and team leads.
Guide system administrator on workstation management, provide escalation support, document system/device configurations, and advise/write procedure and policy.
Perform additional tasks as requested by the IT Manager, other IT department staff, the General Manager or Senior Team members.
Assist with the maintenance and repair of phone, credit card systems, and miscellaneous systems as needed.
Be a proponent of the Stevens Pass values, mission, vision, and service philosophy.
Uphold user and guest privacy and security policies.
Physical demands and work environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Will be required to walk and balance in wet, icy and uneven footing. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may be loud on occasion.
